Plastic Trash to Cash

In a land much like this in a time not so long ago
There were 3 Loaves of bread just waiting to go
Wrapped in plastic bags, their shelf lives were short
Unlike the plastic wrapping in which they were bought

Long after the loaves were eaten the wrappers survived
The small plastic bags the loaves came in just thrived
They were re-used by the customer to take lunch to work
But as they got older in the dark cupboard they‘d lurk

The bag ties were not as lucky as the bags had once been
A use had not been found although they were still very clean
After a few weeks in the kitchen they were all rashly collected
And though clean were treated as though they were infected

Being thrown away with the trash really hurt their feelings
Squashed in the smelly rubbish bag with old potato peelings
Mixing with such rubbish was unacceptable to these ties
Drawing undesired attention of the busy ants and the flies

Insect bites transformed them like Peter Parker to Spiderman
Or Clark Kent thinking of a faster than a speeding bullet Superplan
To educate the people about seperating their good and bad trash
And using these treasured resources to save their hard-earned cash
